Clay and Shell Celebrate 20!

Clay and Michelle celebrated our 20th anniversary by taking a trip to Los Angles and San Diego, California. We saw a show "Wicked", walked the stars, went to the Chinese Theater and saw the foot/hand prints of the stars, the Hollywood sign, and toured the U.S.S. Midway Aircraft Carrier. It was a great trip and a great way to start our 20th year together. (another thing checked off the "bucket list".)

As you can see, I wore my Army jacket! Got a discount because I'm retired, but Active Duty get in free!

April Showers - Utah Style

Do you ever wonder when enough is enough?  Well not us here in Park City, because there never seems to be an end of the white stuff !  The kids are no longer impressed, hard to be when a foot of the white fluffy stuff doesn't even slow the school buses down.  And Momma, she's tired of shoveling the white stuff!!  But, you know what they say "April showers bring July flowers."   I think it will be July before all this stuff melts!!

Hoover Dam

On our way our of Las Vegas we made another side trip to Boulder City, Nevada... the home of Hoover Dam. The dam sits on the border of Nevada and Arizona. We drove across twice and spent a good amount of time walking around the area.

The tour guide said I was allowed to take all the "dam" pictures I wanted and I felt obliged to do just that. I was also told that on holidays and long weekends that sometimes it may take up to three hours to cross the dam due to a narrow two-lane road that runs the length of the border. So in some of the pictures you will see "super-highway" being built to by-pass the dam altogether and reduce congestion.

It was rather impressive to see the dam in person. A true engineering marvel.

Dolphins!!

The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas (home of Sigfried and Roy) also houses Dolphin Habitat just outside the casino doors.

Megan and Marissa spent some time exploring and took a number of these photos within the habitat.

Viva Las Vegas Part II

Continuing on our weekend trip, we decided to take the strip by foot. There is SO much to see on the strip that we couldn't possibly see it all. We focused mainly on the area of the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, The Mirage, Paris, The Flamingo and the other surrounding attractions.

Viva Las Vegas

We spent the Presidents Day holiday in Las Vegas. We made the 6hr drive down Interstate 15 which leads right into the north side of Las Vegas. We got off the highway and drove down Las Vegas Blvd from the north end all the way down to the Las Vegas sign.

The first night there we spent on Fremont Street. So many lights that the senses can go into overload without warning.
